Dress Down Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the last Friday of the month, so it is an all-school dress down day. Please remember to follow our dress down day dress code.

Enjoy A Night Out While Your Kids Play

We know how much our students love Minecraft and Roblox, so our PTA is hosting a Spirit Night at Code Ninjas this Saturday, April 30. Students in grades 2 - 8 get two hours of play time and pizza, while you get time for an evening out. Space is limited so register here today.

The Spirit Night is April 30 from 5:00 - 7:00pm for students in grades 2 - 8. The cost is $29 per child, and 50% of the proceeds go to PCK. Register at ninjascr.com/pckapril30th. Code Ninjas is located at 12231 Pine Bluffs Way in Parker. Their phone number is 720-535-4390.

Thank You For An Amazing Gala

The Spring Gala was a huge success and a great time for all! We had a fantastic turnout and thank everyone who came, participated, donated, and volunteered. Without all of you, this Gala would not have been such a success.

If you won an item in the silent or live auction and have already received your invoice, please pay it so we can close out GalaBid. If you participated in the live auction and have not yet received your invoice, it is on the way. We are working to get all items invoiced as soon as possible. Thank you all for your patience, and again, thank you for your bids.

Last week the Foundation had the privilege of presenting our Gala T-shirt winners with their certificates and free dress down day passes. These kids submitted amazing designs that we were able to use as inspiration for some beautiful shirts. Thank you to all of the students who participated in our contest.

The Art Department also sends a huge THANK YOU to Calli Lamb for making a gorgeous paper crane mobile for the auction. It was simply stunning, and the art teachers are so thankful to Calli for sharing her talent.

Teacher Appreciation Week Is Almost Here

Next week, May 2 - 6, is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week! The PTA has organized a full week of activities to show everyone working at PCK how much they are valued by students and families. Click here or see the image below for the full schedule of events.

On Monday, parents are invited to bring snacks, drinks, sweets, etc. to "stock the fridge" in the staff lounge. If you would like to bring a goody for our staff, please sign up here.

On Friday, the PTA will hold a flower mart for the teachers and staff. They still need donations of vases, large mason jars, tissue paper, and ribbons. If you have a donation, you may now drop it off at the front desk at PCK, or on the porch of one of the following addresses:

Lewis home:

11985 Horseshoe Lane

Parker CO 80138

Danner home:

11226 Jordan Ct.

We thank you!

We Are Water-Wise After Earth Day

Last Friday, we celebrated Earth Day with special guest presenters from Burns & McDonald, CSU Extension, Parker Town Council, Parker Water, South Metro Water Ambassadors, and Stantec. Our students loved their hands-on experiences and lessons on local water conservation, plant care, stormwater runoff, and more.

Thank you to the PCK parents whose hard work made this event a success: Nickie Cole, Drew and Laura Malatesta, Miqui Miller, Suchi Patel, Jason Schaefer, Aaron Schroch, and Travis Scurlock. Thanks also to staff members Stephanie Harper, Johanna Harth, Misty Jenkins, and Madeleine Kimbrough. We truly appreciate all of the time and effort you dedicated to this special day.

Connecting With Character

Our first through fourth grade students finished their unit on handling strong emotions, and are now all in our problem solving unit in Character Coaching. Students learn that when something happens to cause a strong emotion, they first need to calm down and make sure they can think clearly using the problem solving part of their brains, then they can move forward by working to solve the problem. The Home Links below will help you discuss the problem solving steps with your students. Our kindies are still learning how to calm themselves when they have big feelings.

Come Hear Our 5th Grade Ukulelists

Our 5th graders have been hard at work learning to play the ukulele. They are excited to show off their new skills in concerts next week, and everyone is invited. Mrs. O'Connell's class performs on Monday, May 2; Mrs. DeHaan's class plays on Tuesday, May 3; and Ms. Mathias' class is showcased on Wednesday, May 4. All concerts are at 2:15pm in the Events Gym, with doors opening at 2:00pm. Students are welcome to dress up (not down) on the day of their concert.

Great News From The COVID Tracker

Our number of positive COVID cases for the past week is zero. Thanks for your help by keeping students home while waiting for test results or when they have any symptoms.

Having Fun With History

Our fourth graders had a great time at History Colorado on Tuesday. They learned about the town of Keota in the 1920s. It was founded by dry farming homesteaders and was a bustling area until the Dust Bowl of the 1930s destroyed their crops and most of the residents left the town.
