Get Ready For A Long Weekend

PCK is closed on Friday, February 18 and Monday, February 21 for the Presidents Day weekend. Enjoy the time with your family!

Got Milk?

Lunch beverage cards are no longer available on MySchoolBucks. Please purchase milk with Wholesome Food Services

If your student has money left on their lunch beverage card, and you have a Wholesome Food Services account, the balance will be transferred to Wholesome Foods. If you do not have a Wholesome Foods account, you will receive an email with additional information. If your student currently owes money for milk, you will receive an invoice through MySchoolBucks. Unfortunately, our emails that remind parents to refill their milk balances have not gone out this year, so many families have not been charged for milk since August.

If you are not already signed up with Wholesome Food Services, please register on their website today. Questions can be directed to milk@ckcs.net.

We Are In Love With Valentine's Day

Our students had a great time at their Valentine's Day parties on Monday. So many of the classrooms were beautifully decorated and the kids enjoyed fun games and activities, along with plenty of treats! Thank you to everyone who helped make this a special afternoon for our students.

Sharing Love With Hospital Patients

Our 6th graders spent their Valentine's Day party making heart-shaped pillows for patients in the hospital. Sarah Brennan, a 6th grade parent, is a nurse at Highlands Ranch Hospital and she delivered the pillows on behalf of our students. Due to current COVID restrictions, patients are only allowed one visitor per day, and those with COVID are only allowed to have a visitor for one hour per day. Knowing that our students were thinking of them and taking the time to make them special gifts meant a lot to these patients and their families. The staff was also moved by the thoughtfulness of our students, and was so thankful for their generosity. We are #PCKproud of you, 6th grade!

Homework Survey Closes Today

If you have not yet had a chance to share your thoughts on homework at PCK, please be sure to complete this survey today. Our School Accountability Committee is reviewing our homework policy and looks forward to receiving your feedback and using it to shape our school. The survey closes today, February 17. If you have multiple students, feel free to submit a separate survey for each student.

Your Homework Questions Are Answered

If you have ever wondered why students are assigned homework, how much time your child should spend on homework, what resources are available, and how you can help, you won't want to miss our February Parent Education Series session. Johanna Harth and Trustin Thompson will shed light on this popular topic next Thursday, February 24 at 6:30pm at PCK (there will not be a remote option). Please RSVP here. Parent Education Series sessions are for adults only and childcare is not provided.

Sports Spirit Wear

Don't miss your chance to get PCK Athletics spirit wear! The last day to order volleyball shirts is next Tuesday, February 22, and soccer shirts need to be ordered by March 4. These shirts may be worn on PCKproud Days, dress down days, and any time you come cheer on our Cougar athletes.

Gearing Up For The Gala

The Foundation at PCK is busy preparing for our annual Gala on April 23 at 6:00pm at the Colorado Golf Club. This year's theme is Casino Royale. Tickets go on sale March 1st

We need donations! Money is raised for the school through live and silent auctions. We are looking for donations from PCK families to make this happen. This could be anything from a gift certificate for your business, to something you buy and donate. Anything we can auction off can raise money for our new playground! All donations count towards your volunteer hours. Please contact Laura Erhuy with questions or to arrange a pick up of your donation.

We still need volunteers for our grade-level art projects and baskets. To volunteer for a class art project, please contact Niceta Bradburn. To volunteer for the grade-level baskets, click here.

Sponsor Spotlight

This week we would like to thank the Erhuy family for their $750 Jackpot sponsorship. The Erhuys have been part of the PCK community for 3 years. They have a daughter, Ayla, in 2nd grade and a son, Adem, in Jr. Kindergarten. Laura is the president of the PCK Foundation and Oscar is one of the owners of Mountain View Pain Center. At Mountain View Pain Center, they work to find the root cause of your discomfort. Pain takes on many different forms. Their life’s work is to identify and treat your pain with multiple disciplines, such as chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, and pain management solutions. They use a comprehensive approach to understand your symptoms and diagnose the cause of your pain, then tailor specific treatment plans to fit your needs. They take time to optimize a rehabilitation plan for each patient.

Thank you, Erhuy family and Mountain View Pain Center, for your generous donation!

A Good Planet Is Hard To Find

Come help us celebrate Earth Day! We are looking for a group of volunteers to serve on the Earth Day planning committee. This group will decide how our students recognize the day, and plan activities for Friday, April 22. The time commitment is only about 4 - 6 hours. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please contact Mrs. Harth.

Free Therapy For Kids

The State of Colorado launched the IMatter program to provide access to at least three free therapy sessions for children in Colorado. The program is open to those 18 years of age or younger. Youth and their parents can visit www.IMatterColorado.org to take a confidential online survey about their mental health and schedule sessions with a licensed behavioral health clinician.

Connect With Us On LinkedIn

In addition to being posted on our website, job openings at PCK can now be found on LinkedIn. We will have some open positions in the coming months, so keep an eye open if you are interested in working at PCK. You can also stay up-to-date with school happenings on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Great News From The COVID Tracker

Our number of positive COVID cases for the past week is ZERO! That's right, we had none, nada, nil, no COVID reported in our entire school. Thanks for your help by keeping students home while waiting for test results or when they have any symptoms.

Join The PTA Board

It is almost time to elect a new board for PTA. Please reach out if you are interested in a board position for the next term. Details regarding timing will be discussed at upcoming PTA meetings over the next couple of months.

The positions of president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary will be open. Joining the PCK PTA is a great way to get more involved at school and give back to our amazing PCK community. The PTA meets the second Wednesday of every month; check out a meeting! Please reach out to pckpta@ckcs.net if you have any questions or would like more information.

Kindergarten Weather Experts

Have questions about Wednesday's snow storm? Ask a kindergartener! Channel 4 meteorologist Dave Aguilera visited our kindies to teach them all about weather. They even got to make their own snow! Check out this news clip of their fun experience.

Stand Up For Safety

Thank you to Kevin Ferm and Craig Neuman for being Safety Dads this week. Our students love seeing their dads at school, especially at lunch and recess. Many dads sign up for multiple shifts because they enjoying getting a first-hand look at the great things happening at PCK. Sign up today and join in the fun! If you would like to stay for the full day, feel free to sign up for both the morning and afternoon shifts. We would love to have you here!

Thank You

Thank you to the Brennan family for bringing our staff tasty (and gorgeous) Crumbl cookies. They were a big hit!

Thank you to the Hong family for bringing us a beautiful and delicious assortment of chocolate covered strawberries. You sure knew how to show us love on Valentine's Day!

Thank you to the PTA for providing our staff with a wonderful Qdoba lunch before parent/teacher conferences yesterday, and thank you to all of the generous parents who brought drinks and treats to round out the meal. It was very much appreciated!
