Parker Core Knowledge
Our Mission Statement:
Parker Core Knowledge is committed to providing its students an academic advantage by building a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and character, while challenging each individual to become a critical thinker, responsible citizen and future leader.
Spirit Day Schedule
To celebrate the end of another great school year, we have some fun Spirit Days scheduled. This schedule is for our students in kindergarten through 7th grade. 8th grade has a separate Spirit Week schedule.
Thursday, May 23: 50’s style dress (you can also wear this to the Skate Party)
Friday, May 24: White, hunter green, or navy blue (PCK colors for an all-school photo)
Tuesday, May 28: Class/grade choses own theme
Wednesday, May 29: Assigned colored shirts for Field Day
Please review our dress down policies and avoid the following: shorts or skirts shorter than mid-thigh, ripped or torn clothing, bare midriffs, tank tops, and slip-on sandals/flip flops. Leggings should be covered with a long shirt. Remind your student that dress code violations are given on dress down days when necessary.
Please Sign The Waiver For Field Day
Our PE Department is excited to announce that Ninja Nation will have a ninja warrior course at our Field Day! The students in 1st – 7th grades will absolutely love this fun experience, but they can only participate if you submit an online waiver. You can access the waiver here.
Summer Brain Gain
Don’t let your student suffer from the dreaded summer “brain drain.” Instead, get a brain gain! We have several programs available this summer to help students keep their skills sharp while having fun.
Adopt A Flower Bed With PCK
We are partnering with the Town of Parker to help keep Discovery Park clean by adopting several flower beds. We are looking for volunteers to help weed, deadhead flowers, pick up trash, and keep the mulch tidy in beds near the front entrance of the Parker Library. Many hands make light work, so please see this SignUpGenius and volunteer to help! While you are there, stop by the library to keep a fresh supply of books for the Summer Reading Challenge and summer reading homework.
Get The Infinite Campus Update
A new, updated version of Infinite Campus is now available for download in the App Store and in Google Play. Both student and parent versions are available with access to grades, assignments, attendance, schedules, announcements, and more. The current version of Infinite Campus will no longer be available starting in June.
It’s Time To Order Your School Toolbox For Next Year
If you would like to skip the back-to-school shopping crowds and hunting for hard to find or out of stock items, order a School Toolbox. All of your student’s school supplies will be waiting in the classroom when you come to our Registration Open House in August. Get the details here, and order at schooltoolbox.com. The last day to order is June 6.
Talking To Your Kids About School Shootings
If your child is still processing the recent shooting at STEM Highlands Ranch, this article may help. As always, please reach out to your child’s teacher if additional assistance is needed.
Introducing My School Bucks
We have transitioned to a new payment processing system for things such as school fees, field trips, after-school activities, athletics, lunch beverage cards, and more. My School Bucks is the system DCSD uses, so if you have a child in a neighborhood school you may already have an account, but you will need to add your PCK student. If you do not have an account, you will need to set one up. Click here for instructions on how to set up your My School Bucks account.
