Volunteering at PCK
PCK relies on parental involvement to ensure smooth daily operations. The school charter requires each family to donate a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer time per year. Each quarter, families will receive an accounting of the hours they have donated. Families will be responsible for fulfilling the time commitment by July 1 of each year. We request that if parents are unable to donate their time, that they donate $25.00 per hour in lieu of their volunteer time. Please also record the donated hours via the online volunteer log.
Volunteer opportunities are emailed to families through the HelpCounter volunteer system. New families need to create a HelpCounter account to be notified of opportunities, as well as to be able to log their volunteer hours. Please go to the following link: https://www.helpcounterweb.com/ci/volunteer and click “Create New User Name” to create a new account or to log in to an existing account. For questions, contact Becky Harvey, PCK Volunteer Coordinator at email@example.com.
How Do I Find Volunteer Needs
There are a number of volunteer opportunities available at PCK. This page will always have the most current opportunities available. Other resources to find opportunities include the Weekly News, contacting classroom coordinators, sign-up on the PTA mailing list or contact Becky Harvey, the Volunteer Coordinator.
Logging your Hours
Parents/volunteers are responsible for logging their volunteer hours online. Our school Bond Rating and Charter Renewal evaluate our volunteer participation and this data is requested from us. It demonstrates the parents’ commitment to the long-term viability of the school.
When you volunteer at school, logging in as a Volunteer will automatically log your hours. Please ensure you log in and log out when you complete your volunteer task. Help Counter will automatically log the hours for you. For volunteer hours completed outside of school, please log them online through HelpCounter.
Art – We need parent volunteers to help prepare materials, assist students, and help clean up during art class. We also need volunteers to wash our art smocks and other supplies in your own machine. Please only sign up to help with art once a month until everyone has had a chance to see the Sign Up Genius. On September 1 you may fill in open spots on a first-come first-served basis.
