Volunteer

Volunteering
Parent involvement is a part of our charter, and every PCK family agrees to volunteer at least 20 hours (or donate $25/hour) by July 1 of each school year.

Why Volunteer?

  • Volunteering offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow parents and build meaningful relationships.
  • It allows you to play an active role in shaping and strengthening the vibrant community at PCK.
  • Your involvement makes a valuable contribution to the ongoing success and excellence of our school.
Volunteering Application

Below you can access buttons that will take you to our volunteer application, as well as a button for Raptor where you can log your hours.
If you're new to PCK and need assistance with logging your hours, or if you just need a quick refresher, please feel free to use the video resource below.

Classroom Volunteers
This year, we've streamlined our volunteer opportunities by combining library, technology, and art into one unified sign-up for each kindergarten and 1st grade class. To view available slots for your child’s class, simply click the volunteer button labeled with their teacher’s name.

Please note: To see which subject (library, tech, or art) you're signing up for on a specific day, you'll need to click on the corresponding date.

Parent Volunteer Organizations
Foundation

The Foundation at PCK is inviting enthusiastic parents, passionate about and interested in, promoting the continued educational advancement of PCK by enhancing the learning environment and upholding a standard of excellence in education, through the development of private resources and charitable donations.

As the primary fundraising organization supporting PCK, The Foundation is an integral part of enriching PCK’s learning environment by providing additional financial support to PCK outside the annual school budget. The Foundation’s purpose is to develop and maintain relationships with parent and community stakeholders, to seek out opportunities for private resources and charitable donations through annual fundraising events, and to collaborate with PCK to determine the allocation of those funds to PCK.

The Foundation works closely with the entire PCK staff, community, and school board throughout each school year and has many opportunities for parents and community stakeholders to be involved with the planning and success of building community relationships, the fundraising events, and advance the learning environment of PCK.  Foundation meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m.

If you are interested in joining The Foundation at PCK please contact Pam Whitehorn, President, at [email protected].

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

PCK's PTO is a parent-volunteer organization that focuses on building our extraordinary PCK community, and supporting our wonderful teachers and staff. The goal of the PTO is to enhance the educational experience by assembling a variety of events outside of the classroom that are entertaining and exciting for our children, parents, and staff, creating a space where all parties can come together and interact. The PTO appreciates your partnership and volunteer time to help build community events such as our annual Fall Festival, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son event, used uniform sale, and many more.

By volunteering your time with the PTO you are encouraging further peer engagement outside of the classroom, interacting with other amazing PCK families, and supporting our teachers with various treats and events to show our gratitude and support. The PTO holds evening meetings once per month noted in our school calendar. We invite you to join in and participate - we would love your support and look forward to meeting you!

School Accountability Committee (SAC)

The SAC is looking for passionate parents with fresh perspectives to enrich our ongoing endeavor to uphold PCK's status as a premier educational institution.

The purpose of the SAC is to provide accountability in an advisory capacity by informing, encouraging, and providing opportunities for parent and community stakeholders to be involved in the planning, evaluation and quality improvement processes at PCK. The SAC makes recommendations concerning the school’s budget, performance/improvement plan, and meets at 8:15 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

If you are interested in joining the SAC please contact Blaise Singer at [email protected].
