From The Director
Happy Spring! It hardly seems spring-like with all the snow, but on the other hand, that’s spring in Colorado. As we enter the final stretch of the 2017-18 school year, I know the next two months will be busy for everyone. Here are a few highlights for April, May, and early June:
- PCK PTA’s Craft & Vendor Fair – April 14th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Event’s Gym.
- PCK Board Elections – April 17th. If you wish to run for one of three open board seats, please send a letter of interest, along with a brief bio, to Keri Dermer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- PCK FunDRun – April 27th here at PCK.
- PCK Gala Fundraiser – April 28th at the Colorado Golf Club. Tickets available on the PCK website.
- Annual Spring Musical – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, May 4th & 5th. Tickets will go on sale soon.
- First Annual International Event, May 18th – PCK Event’s gym. This is a joint event between the Spanish Department and the PCK Preschool.
- 8th Grade Graduation, June 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
- Kindergarten Graduation, June 5th at 8:30 a.m – 9:15 a.m. in the Event’s Gym.
- Field Day, June 5th from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. AT PCK, followed by End-of-Year Classroom Parties from 2-3 p.m. June 5th is also our LAST DAY OF SCHOOL.
Whew! So many great events and activities still to come, and so many opportunities for parents to plug in and volunteer. If you are still looking for hours, please contact Becky Harvey at email@example.com to see what’s needed.
Finally, on a very unrelated note, we are in the process of transitioning the infamous PCK Waitlist to a new hosted server called SchoolMint. This transition will allow us, for the first time ever, to communicate with our entire waitlist in mass. However, as with most technology conversions, our transition has not been without its glitches. SchoolMint has experienced some technical difficulties and, consequently, mass emails have gone out to some families on our list. We are working with SchoolMint to correct the issue, but we could use your help in reassuring anyone you may know who received one of these mass spam emails that all is well. We have the original master list, and SchoolMint is actively working to find the technical glitch. No one will be dropped from the list or lose their original position as a result of this conversion. SchoolMint assures us that they will have the issue resolved sometime in the next week or two. In the meantime, thank you for reassuring those you may know on the list that their original position is secure. Ahhh, the joys of technology!
I look forward to seeing you at one or more of our upcoming school events/activities.

Enter A Picture In Our Earth Day Photo Contest
In celebration of Earth Day 2018, PCK will be holding an Earth Day Photo Contest, as well as incorporating Earth Day-related education and recycled art projects into the classroom curriculum. Students interested in submitting photos are encouraged to submit one digital photo in one of the following categories: What I did for Earth Day 2018, Landscapes, or Plants & Wildlife. All elementary and middle school grade levels are eligible to compete and the top three photos in each age division will receive Amazon gift cards. Look for more details in an upcoming PCK newsletter.
No Soda, Please
Just a reminder to please leave sodas at home and not pack them in your student’s lunch. They get shaken (usually accidentally) on the way to lunch and make quite a mess when they overflow. Thanks for your help with this!
Our Students Love Our New Hot Lunch Vendor
Our new hot lunch vendor, Wholesome Food Services, is off to a great start. Our students really seem to be enjoying the food. If you have not yet registered, it is not too late! Get the details about what they provide here, then click on the link to www.wholesomefoodservices.com to create an account. The ordering calendar with menu options and prices is available once you register. If you have questions about the registration or ordering process, please contact Wholesome Food Services using the Contact Us function on their website, or the contact information on the attached flier.

Help Us Send Off Mrs. Kupper
Our much-loved, long-time (21 years at PCK!) teacher, Debbie Kupper, is retiring at the end of this school year. She has influenced so many our of students and families with her kindness, love, and amazing skill as a teacher. If you or your student would like to write her a note, draw a picture, or send in a favorite memory/photograph, please feel free to drop it off at the front desk where we will collect these special items for her retirement celebration at the end of the year.
