Syllabus

PCK Core Behaviors:

1. Respect
2. Responsibility
3. Ready to Participate

What you need:(6th, 7th, and 8th Grade only!)

You should have a USB flash drive that is 256MB or larger for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Remember though this is going to be your responsibility. The larger the flash drive, the more expensive it is. One gig is going to be plenty of space.

Classroom Work:

We are going to stay focused while we are working with the computers. This means if we are researching frogs on the Internet we are no looking at dirt bikes or the Jonas brothers. There is going to be plenty of time for everyone to work on assignments in class. Staying on task is going to help out while we are working. Please do not be afraid to ask questions. Remember  that at one time I was in your shoes too.

Homework:

All homework needs to be completed by the next class period. Very rarely will I expect you to take assignments home. Please be aware that if I ask you to bring material in from home or from another class it is because we will be using it for the next class period. Keep in mind if you are NOT ready to participate in class you will lose points for the day.

Grading:

There are two parts to your grade in Technology. The first is class participation, and the second is based off of work that is turned in. If you are ready to participate and stay on task for the class period then there will be no problems. If all requirements are met and your work is turned in ontime everything will be golden.

Computers:

We are going to treat the computers like they are our best friend. Everyone will come in with clean hands. when we are working on assignments we will stay on task. That means we will no peer pressure each other into doing somehting we should not be doing. Remember everyone a PCK uses these computers so we will treat them like they are our own.

Classroom:

We will do our best to come with a positive attitude. Respect will get you far in the Computer Lab. If you respect the computers they will treat you very nice. We will will respect everyone around us. Respect is earned and very eay to lose. Use of the computers and equipment is a privilege. Disrespecting your neighbors, computers or the teacher may result in your use of the computers to be lost. Being respectful includes being honest, "My dog ate my homework," will not be a viable excuse for this class. I am willing to work with you if you are honest with me.

Bathroom:

Please do your best to use the bathroom before class. In case you do forget to utilize the restroom before class, you will need to check with me about leavign the classroom. Leaving my classroom too often will result in consequences. Time you miss in the classroom is time you miss learning.
