2. The Operating Council

2.01 - Governing Body

An Operating Council (OC) consisting of nine members who govern PCKCS: six elected parents, at least one teacher, and the School Director.  Parents and teachers are elected members.  The School Director is automatically a member of the OC.  The job of the OC is to set policy for the administration to carry out and to oversee the school finances.

The OC conducts meetings one evening per month unless otherwise noted. Meeting dates and times, along with an agenda are posted at the school.  Everyone is encouraged to attend these meetings.  Notice of meetings is posted 24 hours prior to meetings, generally in the school newsletter or on the school website.  The current OC members are listed annually in the school directory and on our website.

When giving suggestions or input to the OC, guidelines are as follows:
  • All input to the OC should be put in writing.  Suggestions for the OC can be turned into the office and will be handled confidentially.

  • All input will be shared with all OC members.
