From the Director

Thank you to all parents who attended Parent-Teacher conferences Wednesday and Thursday this week. Also, thank you to all of those who completed our annual Parent Survey. Communication in person and in written form allows us to continually improve how we educate and support our students and families. If you were not able to complete the survey and get it turned in today, you can still send it in after the long weekend. The SAC is already hard at work inputting the results into Survey Monkey so that we can receive your feedback as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful President's Day weekend!

This years theme is Got 2 B Safe.

Students in grades 6th thru 8th are eligible to participate. There will be 14 winners from Douglas, Arapahoe and Elbert counties with the top winner receiving a laptop and the others will receive a $100 gift card.

The art classes have started working on the artwork, but it should be completed at home. If your student does not have art this year , they can still participate. Rule sheets and calendars from last year can be picked up from the art room.

The contest deadline is March 7, 2012. Winning students artwork will be featured on next years middle school calendar. We had a winner from PCKCS last year. Contact Mrs. Ackerman for more information.

Attention K-2 Students!

running
Kids Running America is coming to PCK!

Tie up your running shoes, join the Cougars running team and start running towards the finish line.

We will start running Thursday, February 23rd after school from 3:20pm – 4:15pm. We will meet in the gym and either run out on the track or in the gym depending on the weather.

We will meet for 10 weeks where kids will be able to accrue their *marathon distance in a fun, group atmosphere. The Cougars team will then earn the unforgettable reward of coming together with other Kids Running America participants in a Final Mile Event held at City Park on April 28th where they will cross an actual finish line.

The entire program fee is only $35.00! Kids will earn a finisher’s medal, have great training incentives, awesome shirt, ability to keep track of their miles online, and lifelong bragging rights of being a marathon finisher!

Please contact Teresa Taylor, the Volunteer Lead Mentor for the PCK Cougars at 303-908-5231 or via e-mail at teresa.taylor@comcast.net

For more details or to sign up on the PCK Cougars team, visit www.kidsrunningamerica.org.

If any parents are interested in helping with this program, please contact Teresa as well.

Thank You
To Karen Marceau for making us new "flower" pens for the front desk. They are great and we hope we can keep them around!
