FROM the DIRECTOR

There are many Marvelous & Magnificent reasons why we love our parent volunteers!  And, while I could write about it here today, the entire PCK staff would rather tell you and show you in person.  Please plan to stop by our Parent Appreciation Station in the Elementary Lunchroom on Monday morning, May 1st, from 7:45 – 9 a.m.  We will have coffee, juice, breakfast goodies and a few surprise student performances for parents to enjoy.  It will be a fun community time for all involved, and it gives the PCK staff the opportunity to say, ‘Thank you’ for all you do to support the students and staff throughout the year!  

Stop in for a quick treat, or stay for the entire time…we look forward to visiting with you at our Parent Appreciation Station.  For those of you unable to stop by, we will have extra staff outside in the carpool lines with a small token of our appreciation.  A simple thank you hardly seems adequate to cover all the amazing ways you have volunteered during the 2016-17 school year. We hope you know how much your support means to us, and how much we appreciate each and every one of you.  Thank you for another fantastic school year, and I hope to see you Monday morning.

On a related note, I must give HUGE kudos to the Foundation at PCK, and to all the generous PCK families, who support us through the Annual Giving Campaign, FunDRun and our Annual Gala event.  I am truly humbled by the outpouring of financial support from our community.  Last weekend’s gala alone brought in over 72K dollars! WOW!  Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving so generously, and a special thank you to the entire gala and FunD run committee members who tirelessly worked for months to organize and host these back-to-back events.  As always, it was a fun event for all, and the funds raised go directly back to our students.  I am so grateful.

PCK FunD Run Update

Congratulations! The weather wasn’t ideal, but the students did a GREAT JOB with the FunD Run and had a blast. A huge Thank You to all the parents who were there to support the students!

As a school, we ran 19,664 laps, which is 1,229 miles. That was an average of 28.62 laps per student.

These 2 classes earned an extra recess for running the most laps:
Mrs. Gustin (Bash), 2nd grade, with an average of 34.19 laps
Mrs. Nelson, 7th grade, with an average of 37.44 laps

 The Best Spirit Awards go to…
The entire 1ST grade (which also had the best parent turn-out!)
Miss Bloyer’s, 5TH grade, for the great “Crush” theme, complete with Miss Bloyer’s barrel costume.

 Pledges are due this Friday, April 28th!

Classroom thermometers have been updated for each class so students can see if they have raised enough for their class parties with an $80 average needed for a Kona Ice Party and $90 average needed for a Hydro Blast Party.
Zajac PM is currently in 1St place with an average per student of $89.74|
Dow-Peterson is in 2nd place with an average per student of $55.10
Miller (Tiger) is in 3rd place with an average per student of $54.92

    1. Please have checks made payable to The Foundation at PCK. Or, go to www.Run4FundsColorado.com/parker to place online pledges. To check online totals, please click the “My Pledges” tab. User Name- Core   Password- Cougar.
    2. Before turning in the money and sponsor envelope, make sure it is correctly filled out with student’s name.
    3. Turn in completed collection envelopes to your teachers.

Coaches Needed For The 17/18 School Year

Our PCK athletic teams are great thanks to our parent volunteer coaches. We are looking for parents to help coach the following teams next school year:

      • Boys Soccer (fall)
      • Coordinator/Volunteer to help plan and run PCK’s Cross Country meets (fall)
      • Girls Soccer (spring)

Notable Students 

Grace Seaback was the state champion at the XCEL Gold state championship gymnastics meet this past weekend. 
She won 1st place on beam, 2nd place on bars, and 3rd place vault… plus 1st place all around!
Way to go Grace!!
